Piano Styles for Beginners

Service Description

These lessons offer an excellent approach for students who have specific goals as they study piano and percussion! Students will develop a focused program of study centered on one or two musical styles, or will chose between learning to read and play music (classical, accompaniment, sight reading, etc) or reading and playing from lead sheets (jazz, pop, R&B, worship, country, etc). Students taking these classes may also choose to study composition or performance! Note: With any endeavor of this sort, effective practice time is important! It is highly recommended that students have at minimum 2 and one-half hours of preparation between lessons. Please consider: Beginning students who are interested in being developed as versatile pianists and percussionists should consider taking "Piano Styles for The Complete Musician" which offers 45 minute weekly experiences including music literacy, composition, theory, performance, and more. These experiences often find students dually enrolled with a drum or percussion instructor.
